Familiar tunes used: "Gaudete" from Piae Cantiones (1582), "O Come, All Ye Faithful" (instrumental motif only)
Quiet opening with solo trumpet ("O Come, All Ye Faithful" motif) building quickly into gigantic orchestral climax and dramatic, abrupt entry of full chorus; choral segment, then instrumental interlude allowing for movement (processional); choir rejoins, piece builds to massive and glorious conclusion.
